Vice President, Human Resources and Loss Prevention - CarMax
Mr. Cronheim joined CarMax in 2007 as Senior Corporate Counsel in the company’s legal department. In 2010, he was promoted to assistant vice president for loss prevention and took on oversight of the company’s security, theft and fraud prevention, background screening and investigation functions. In 2013, Craig became assistant vice president of human resources and loss prevention when he took on additional responsibility for leadership of the talent management department. In 2016, Craig was promoted to vice president, human resources and loss prevention and took on additional responsibility for oversight of all corporate human resources functions. Today, he continues to lead CarMax’s loss prevention team as well as its benefits and compensation areas. Prior to joining CarMax, Craig practiced antitrust, securities and corporate governance law at firms in Richmond and Washington, DC. Craig has a B.A. from the University of Richmond and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. Craig serves as the President of the Board of Directors for The CarMax Foundation. He supports CarMax’s philanthropic efforts strategically, and he volunteers across the country with CarMax associates including having built 8 playgrounds with KaBOOM!. Craig and his wife, Kim, live in Richmond where they try to keep up with their active and energetic sons, Kevin and Brian.
